Collections

A collection represents a group of products. For example, you can create a collection for:

• seasonal products
• products on sale
• products of a certain type (t-shirts, jeans)
• products for specific customer group (men, women, children)
• products that require specific taxes (find more in Taxes)

Each collection has its page on your store website. If the store theme provides customizable options for collection pages, you can configure settings for collection pages in the Website editor.

You can have up to 1 000 collections within one store.

Desktop

To start working with collections, in admin interface, go to Products > Collections.

Tablet

To start working with collections:

1. In admin interface, select and go to Products
2. In the sidebar, select Collections

Mobile

To start working with collections:

1. In admin interface, select and go to Products
2. In the sidebar, select Collections

The Collections section contains a collections table. Its appearance depends on the device you use to open the page in the admin interface.

In the Collections, you can:

• Sort out collections
• Find collections
• Create collection
• Edit collection
• Delete collection

Sort collections

To sort collections:

Desktop

1. In Collections, select
2. Select the sorting you want to apply. Available sortings:
   • creation date (by default, the collections are sorted from the newest to the oldest ones)
   • alphabetical order
   • number of products

If you apply non-default sorting, the sort button has the indication:

Tablet

1. In Collections, select Sort

To find collections by name, use the search bar above the collections table.

Create collection

To create a collection:

Desktop

1. In Collections, select Create Collection
2. Fill in collection parameters
3. Select Save

Tablet

1. In Collections, select
2. Fill in collection parameters
3. Select Save

Mobile

1. In Collections, select
2. Fill in collection parameters
3. Select Save

After you create a collection, a pop-up window appears. You can return to the Collections section or add products to the created collection.

Collection parameters

Title. Required parameter. Represents the collection name. Must contain 1-255 symbols. All symbols are allowed.

Description. Can contain up to 10 000 symbols. All symbols are allowed.

URL. Required parameter. Uniform resource locator for the collection page on your store website. By default, URL is autogenerated after the Title is filled in, but you can change it. URL must be unique within your store collections domain and must contain 2-255 symbols. Allowed symbols: letters, digits, hyphens. Example: .../collection/my-collection-url

Collection image. To add a collection image, select the frame and use Media gallery to manage the collection image.

To delete the collection image select on the right side.

Alt text for collection image. Alternative text for the collection image description. Alternative text appears if the collection image cannot be rendered for some reason. Also, alternative texts are useful for SEO. The parameter appears only if the collection image is added. Can contain up to 125 symbols. All symbols are allowed.

Collection template. A collection template is a JSON file that defines the sections and layout used for the collection page. The available options depend on the store active theme. You can add, change, or remove templates for the theme using Code editor.

Title of search snippet. A search snippet is a short description of the collection page that appears in search results. The title of the search snippet appears above its description. Can contain up to 63 symbols. All symbols are allowed.

Description of search snippet. A part of the search snippet which appears under its title. Can contain up to 160 symbols. All symbols are allowed.

Edit collection

To edit a collection and manage its products:

1. In Collections, select the collection you want to edit
2. Change the collection parameters
3. Select Save

Manage products

You can manage collection products in Products section of Edit collection.

All product changes (adding new products or deleting products from the collection) made in Products section are saved automatically. You do not have to save the collection if you work with its products only.

In Products section, you can:

• Sort products
• Find products by name
• Add products to the collection
• Delete products from the collection

Sort products

If a product has variants with different prices, only the lowest variant price is used for sorting by price.

To sort the collection products:

To find the collection products by name, use the search bar in Products section.

Add products to collection

You must create products before adding them to the collection: find more in Products article.

You can include a product in different collections.

A collection can include up to 1000 products.

You cannot add product variants to a collection.

Delete products from collection

Desktop

You can delete products from the collection in two ways:

1. In Products section, select for the product you want to delete
2. In Products section, mark the checkboxes for the products you want to delete and select Delete in the bulk operation bar below. In the pop-up window, select Delete

Tablet

You can delete products from the collection in two ways:

1. In Products section, select for the product you want to delete
2. In Products section, mark the checkboxes for the products you want to delete and select Delete in the bulk operation bar below. In the pop-up window, select Delete

Mobile

1. To delete collection products, in Products section, mark the checkboxes for the products you want to delete and select Delete in bulk operation bar below
2. In the pop-up window, select Delete
