Website editor

The website editor is a set of instruments to help you to customize the appearance of your store website.

You can use the following website editor instruments:

  1. Page editor. It allows setting up the website pages and working with page sections
  2. Navigation. It allows creating and editing of the navigation menus. You can embed the navigation menu into the website section using Page editor or Code editor
  3. Theme settings. It contains the default theme settings and allows changing the website graphic and stylistic appearance
  4. Code editor. It allows advanced website customizing via editing its theme files

The Page editor and Theme settings instruments are designed for inexperienced users. They offer a more user-friendly approach to website customization.

The Code editor and Navigation instruments allow deeper and tuned website customization but require experience with website building and programming knowledge.

Start working with website editor

To open the website editor for your store, in admin interface. select Website editor.

Interface

In desktop view, the website editor divides into three areas:

  1. The website control bar. It contains the controls for website preview and saving
  2. The sidebar. It contains website editor pages, elements, and controls. The upper panel contains the name of the website editor page. Use Return button to return to the previous page
  3. The website preview. The preview instantly applies all changes you make in the website settings and displays the website as it is shown to your customers

The website control bar contains buttons:

  • Close. It closes the website editor and returns you to admin interface. If you have unsaved changes, a pop-up window appears. You can discard the unsaved changes or stay in the website editor and save it

When you close the website editor, all unsaved changes will be permanently lost!

  • The preview buttons. You can use the preview buttons to display your website in other modes. To do so, select the button:
    • Desktop view button for desktop mode (enabled by default)
    • Tablet view button for tablet mode
    • Mobile view button for mobile devices mode
  • Preview. It opens the website preview in the new browser tab. The preview shows the website in desktop mode as it is displayed to your customers
  • Save. Use this button to save all changes made in the website editor

The Save button becomes active only if you have unsaved changes.
